What is the weakness of the dragon smarag? ›

The boss Glintstone Dragon Smarag is weak against Thrust Damage in Elden Ring.

The stone revealed that all dragons have a hidden weak spot - their bellies. It warned that if a dragon's belly was hit, they could lose their magical abilities temporarily.

Ice, fairy, and dragon type moves are all super effective against dragon types. Ice is generally your best attacking option since many Dragon Pokemon have a secondary typing weak to ice as well (flying and ground), so ice moves do 4 times the regular damage.

Bayle The Dread

You probably enter the Bayle the Dread battle expecting just another (if admittedly thematically epic) fight against an Elden Ring dragon. That is until you realize that your usual strategy of staying between its legs won't quite work for Bayle is a dragon with only one leg to his name.

This is an optional boss, as players don't need to defeat it in order to advance in Elden Ring.

As you approach, a Glintstone Dragon will awaken. You don't need to kill it to get what you need. Lure it away and ride Torrent up to the place it was sleeping and you'll see an Academy sorcerer, complete with stone helmet. Loot them to obtain the key and gain entrance to the Academy.

Glintstone Dragon Adula originally appears guarding the entrance to Ranni's Tower at the Three Sisters, but will fly off after losing around half their HP - but the fight at the Moonlight Altar will be much harder.

As this is an outdoors encounter, you can mount Torrent to quickly evade Smarag's breath attacks. Melee users are encouraged to use Torrent to quickly get back into melee range when Smarag flies away.

Smarag's head is a weak point, so any hits there will deal extra damage. If you want to defeat Smarag quickly, simply use your melee weapons to wallop its head as much as possible.

Is The Glintstone dragon supposed to run away? ›

Once players make their way towards Ranni's Rise, they will encounter Glintstone Dragon Adula for the first time. By doing battle with her and depleting her health enough, she will eventually disappear by flying away from the area. Adula can then be found waiting in front of the Cathedral of Manus Celes.

Melee characters will need to learn the dragon's claw swipe move and track the dragon after they vanish to avoid their deadlier moves. Placidusax is reportedly weak to fire.

Ignore her small summons, avoid her big summons

Roll through their bite attacks and continue to pummel Rennala. The summons only last a few seconds before disappearing, so you don't need to deal with them. However, at low health Rennala will summon a Dragon Spirit to protect her.

This boss is weak to Bleeding, and the passive effect of this weapon builds that up. The standard damage of the weapon isn't particularly great, but activating Bleed damage takes out huge chunks of HP at a time. Use these in combination with an Ashes summon like Lone Wolf Ashes so she becomes distracted.

Fight and defeat The Dragon. In general the Dragon's heart is his primary weakness. The organ must be exposed and attacked to inflict significant damage; the Dragon is weak to Dark, not Ice or Holy.
