The couple was preparing to get married when a fight over pasta brought their wedding plans to a halt. According to Liz, their breakup happened over Ed's famous taco pasta.

“A few nights ago, Ed and I got in an argument in front of his family. His sister was at the house. Ed made dinner — taco pasta, but then Riley’s dish was just way too spicy for her, and Ed pretty much told her to stop being a baby."

According to Liz, she called out her partner for being rude, and their relationship went downhill from there. She explained that Ed had totally ghosted and called off their wedding without informing her directly. “Yesterday, I received a text message from our officiant telling me how sorry he was that the wedding was called off,” Liz said in her confessional interview.

Ed accused Liz of being unsupportive and admitted they already had tension prior to the argument. He claims he wanted to call off the wedding to prove to Liz that he was serious about their break up. “She doesn’t respect me. Liz getting this upset at me at yelling, I was embarrassed,” Ed explained.

“This is a person I should be able to turn to for love and support and to protect me when I make a mistake,” he added. Big Ed later admitted he had “regrets” about how their breakup happened. The reality star explained that he “wasn’t happy” about how Liz found out about their wedding being called off. Ed added there was “no good way” to break the news. “So, I just had to cut it off.”

How Liz Woods Has Changed Since Being Dumped By Big Ed

Liz Woods appears to be healthier and happier since being dumped by Big Ed in August 2023.

After her split from Ed, she started dating Jason Zuniga, who she admits has helped her heal and understand what it's like to be in a healthy relationship.

“He said, ‘If I ever speak to you the way Ed has spoken to you, you better go tell my family and walk away from me right away,’” the 90 Day Fiance star explained. "He said I don’t ever have to worry about feeling the way I did and that he’ll always grow with me as a person.”

Her breakup from Ed allowed Liz to make changes in her life, explaining that Jason has "been nothing but like a blanket" during this period of growth. Unlike her previous relationship, she had set boundaries and is allowed to communicate her feelings better.

“I speak my mind all the time,” she said. “I don’t hold things in. I think the hardest part is addressing something that bothers me right then and there, instead of bottling it up.”

Liz's transformation was also on the outside. The reality TV star dropped from 170 to 130 pounds and credits cardio and diet changes for her weight loss.

Drag yourself to the gym, and getting there is really hard sometimes. But when I leave the gym, I’m so glad I did.”
